Hi,

my machine is a 2.53 non-unibody MBP.

Last week when i was running VMFusion thru eSATA expresscard on an external hdd, i plugged in my another external hdd via firewire 400 port. it did not show up. i figured that might not be supported by VM, but the firewire hdd kept being invisible after i shutted down the VM. it is not seen in the Volumes folder, and it doesn't show up either after reboot.

Now i have already restore the system by timemachine and things are okay, but i really want to know the reason why that would happen and if there is any easier method to solve, so that next time if i happen to do that again, the situation will not be that tough. i looked up some threads but most situations other ppl encountered are simply no-recognition during VM usage, never had there been a case that firewire totally refuse to show up again.

by the way, my firewire hdd is formatted in NTFS format and accessed via
Paragon NTFS.

thx for any help.
