fireworks; too many fonts

Hello,

I have a problem with fireworks crashing because there are too many installed.
I searched the forums for any solutions and I saw that people were suggesting using Linotype font explorer instead of font book. So that's what I did and I disabled a bunch of fonts. The problem is that the fonts still show up in the font list in fireworks (not in photoshop though). When I scroll down the font list I get to a point where fireworks says "no more!" and quits.

Does anybody have a solution for this besides uninstalling fonts.
