Firmware 3.1.3 to 4.3.3 for iPhone 3Gs - Is there any potential risk?

Hi, my iPhone 3Gs Firmware version is 3.1.3 (7E18); Carrier 5.1; Modem Firmware (Baseband) 05.12.01. It was factory unlock from beginning and I had to do jailbreak to install softwares from cydia, appstore etc. Now if I wish to update my iOS to 4.3.3 through iTunes. Would there by any problem? Like is there any chance that after update to 4.3.3 it may fail to grab "Network"?

What to do if something wrong happens after the iOS update?

Please advice...
