My Boot memory is in 4.11f1 rather than 4.2.8. because I didn't update my firmware.

How can I update the Firmware with the problem with Panther ?

Thanks for your help !

MAC G4 533Mhz

I don't understand your problem.
Download the firmware from here:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120068

Boot into OS 9 and install the firmware. If you don't have 9 installed, install it. If you didn't format your drive w/ 9 drivers, you need to find an external drive w/ 9 installed on it, boot from that. i haven't tried a OS 9 CD, but it would probably work also.

Do I need to update the firmware only with OS 9?

In this cas, can I install OS 9 on an external harddisk and start on it?

Don't want to start with OS 9

So, I bought an internal Hard-disk (slave mode) and installed OS 9.

Now, I trie to start with OS 9 on this HD but it doesn't work... The Mac continues to start with the master HD on OS X.

What can I do????

Start my G4 533Mhz with OS 9

Now, I switch my HD and the master has OS 9. But, It is always impossible to start with OS 9.

What can I do to update this Firmware ....?

Startup in Panther. Go to System Preferences and choose the Startup panel. Choose the OS 9 system and restart.

Alternative method: At bootup, hold down the Option key. You should get a list off bootable volumes, choose the one you want.
