Have a late 08 Aluminum Macbook that I recently sold on eBay. Readying this for buyer. Installed new HD, their request, with Snow Leopard. Previously, I had a SSD with Mavericks on it. I had a EFI password set. Since I have swapped drives, and installed Snow Leopard to new drive, I inserted Snow Leopard DVD, booted off that, and checked to see if password was there. Shows now firmware password set as it gives me option to set a new one. Am I in the clear? I want to make sure this doesn't have any tricks before I ship it off.

Thanks~

Sorry, answered my own question.

I installed SSD with Mavericks in laptop, booted to Recovery partition. Checked Firmware password utility, and it tells me that password protection is off. Easy.
