In persona non grata
Mac Noob here, am interested in installing MS XP on my intel iMac. I read in the instructions that you need to make sure your firmware is updated, and saw a website to check it. My question is: does your firmware update automatically when you use the software update utility, or do you have to do that seperately? And if you do it seperately, how do you tell what you need? Any help would be appreciated. If I could get XP to run right, I can go get a MacBook and get rid of the silly Dell laptop i have to keep to run certain programs required by my company!

not in the software update, but pretty much, all you need to do is go to the apple support download section, type in macbook + firmware and you should be set.

it's really easy.
