Firmware update on 5,1.

Hi, I have a few questions regarding my firmware.

1. Should I upgrade my firmware even if everything works fine ATM?
2. I have 8GB of RAM installed. I understand that years back, firmware had an effect on this capability. Will the newest update break that?

MB51.007D.B03 is what I am on now. Update to MB51.007D.003 (EFI 1.3) is available.
1.32f8 (SMC 1.2) SMC is current.

Thanks for clearing that up. I am still however confused, but because of this. This is on Apple's website. It seems the listed firmware is 1.3 and not 1.4. Maybe they simply need to update the website to reflect 1.4?
