Firmware upgrade - iMac 2006

Hello,

I have a white 2006 iMac (5,1). I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the firmware to the iMac 7,1's. I want to do this because I want to be able to use all the 4 GB ram that I have installed and (if possible) get the HDD link speed to 3 gigabit.

Is it possible?

The SATA speed is a hardware limitation. Your iMac uses SATA 1 while the 7,1 aluminum iMac used SATA 2.
