Hey all, I just got my first apple computer yesterday and I've had to shut it down(holding the power button til it turns off) probably 10x thus far. I think it might be in relation to the internet.

What happens is as follows: i'll be going about my business on the internet, downloading or whatever, when an application will freeze. iChat has frozen, downloads have stopped, safari wont load pages, etc. While those are frozen however, I can continue doing w/e I was doing in itunes or otherwise.

If I try to start another app like photobooth or something, the icon just continues bouncing and never starts up. I've tried using force quit and that will sometimes remove it from the list of running programs but down at the dock, there is still a black arrow under the icon of the respective app.

My internet doesn't cut out on my windows computers that are wired to the router. It's a linksys router that is 'N' capable if that makes any difference. Any ideas? need more info? I've already run the software updater and there is nothing to update. Thanks alot for the help!

Well that's an interesting problem!

You say that your Windows computers are wired, but I'm assuming that you're using wireless for your Mac. Try using a cable and see whether it helps.
