The Iphone 2g it has an aluminium backing, quite sturdy and feels good in the hand.

How much would they go for in 10/20/50 years time?

Depends on the condition.

Sealed in box will make it priceless in years to come, but something that's been used since launch date won't have much value.

like new...got a refrurbrished one from apple as my older iphone 2g-stoped working.
