Ive been through a few apples. They all ran beautifully for me.
I have a late '10 Macbook Pro 13, the one in my sig.

I shut the lid earlier and stuffed it in my bag an hour ago.
I just pulled it out and it was hot as fire, and still on, even though the lid was closed. (Apple still lit up, screen on, trackpad and keyboard frozen)

So something happened. I just powered it off, and then powered back on.

I have no idea what happened, it was running smooth right before i closed it.
But, since this is the first time a mac has frozen on me, Id like to figure out why.
I checked my logs, and ill post what i found. Maybe someone could read them and tell me what happened.
Is there any other things i could check to find out why?

I was running a program to root a cell phone, which was successful and everything was fine, thats all i did. But looks like it caused a problem?
Lol i dont know what any of that means.
Where it goes from 2:36PM to 3:48pm is where it was closed, on and frozen apparently, and heating up in my bag. Then i rebooted.

Thanks in advance.

My guess is that it overheated. Mine's done similar things when it doesn't go to sleep properly. So it stays on and bakes itself into a crash.

In regards to your signature, you do realize that a iPhone 4 can use facetime over 3G if it's JB'd (equivalent to rooting)? It can also create a wifi network.

Its no biggie, just hoping its all ok. Thanks for the reply :)

Yeah, i just learned about that actually. Pretty cool. I never got around to jailbreaking the 3gs when i had it. I wish i had for some of the features that were then available.
Ive rooted my android though, and many many others for friends. It sure opens it up a lot more.

Try performing an SMC reset.

Hold (Command + Option + Shift + Power button) for about 10 seconds (Your sleep indicator will flash rapidly, one this happens release all buttons simotaniously.)

That's not how you reset the SMC. You're really close. You press and immediately release. Holding down the power button puts into a mode where it's trying to update the firmware. That's something else entirely.
