i'm looking for an fm transmitter and a car charger that will work with my first gen firewire ipod. she's still going strong and i'm gonna need to listen to some tunes on my way to work this summer. thanks

I think Belkin do a more standard fm transmitter than takes a triple A battery and has a short wire to connect to any 3.5mm female jack. That should do the job for the tunes part. Or if you're feeling adventurous you could open up your dashboard to see if your stereo has an audio in port. Even cd multichanger ports can sometimes be hacked to work with a generic audio input (if you don't plan on useing a multichanger).

The wirewire car charger will work if you get a firewire cable that's thin enough that it doesn't get in the way of driving because it's so bulky. The iTrip isn't going to work though, it's for the later iPod models.
They show two models of the iTrip on that page. This is the one that'll work with the iPod in question.
