First gen iphone housing not flush

So I didn't really notice this before but at the top of my 2g iphone, the back housing isn't flushed with the chrome bezel. I don't really mind it but I don't want it to cause problems in the future so do you think I'd be able to get an exchange from the apple store. My phone is still under warrentee. I live far away from an apple store so I don't want to make a trip out there and just be told there isn't a solution to this problem.
