First Gen iPhone on SIMPLICITY with O2?

Hey all, is it possible to use the original iPhone with an O2 SIMPLICITY SIM card in it without needing to unlock the device? I'm wanting to use my SIMPLICITY SIM in it on the O2 network but also want the advantages of using the app store.

Since it has been unlocked anyway would I need to re-virginise? Then install iPhone OS 3.0 on it?

Any help appreciated.
