Ok,

So I open up a new first generation iPad (bought at Best Buy). Plug it in via the USB connector. iTunes recognizes it. Asks me if I want to register now or register later.

I choose Register Later.

And the attached picture is what comes next on the screen. Why did it come in what I think is Chinese? I believe it has something to do with the Find My iPhone feature.

That was quite strange and furthermore does that mean something is amiss with this iPad?

Yes, China is trying to locate its iPad.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. But I wouldn't worry to much, when I registered my iPad I didn't even get an image (the image wouldn't load), so its probably some web error.
