I have a first generation iPod Touch that is jail broken, recently when i plug in my iPod i get a error message in iTunes, and the iPod isn't showing up in the side bar. I recently updated my itunes to 9.0.2 and I jail broke the iPod a few days before that and it synced just fine. The error i get in iTunes says "itunes could not connect to this iPod because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000022)"

apple genius...

if you do not get any further assistance... go to apple custoemr service! They have tons of helpful insight, and you can even make an appoitment with an apple "genius." hope this helps.... i had this problem with a nano a while back...

Have you tried another port on the computer? Do you have another computer to connect the iPod touch to? Another cable? These steps will allow you identify if the issue is with the computer, it's software, the iPod, the cable, etc. Once you've isolated it a bit more we can help.
