My first ever mac, a brand spankin' new 17" unibody MacBook Pro, customized with the 3.06ghz processor and 500gb 7200rpm hard drive, just arrived! I must say, this is the most beautiful machine I have ever owned. It's just incredible. I was beating myself up for spending $2600 on a computer, but now that I see it, it was worth every penny. It took 3 minutes to configure and now I'm already copying over music, browsing the internet, and mostly just staring, jaw fully dropped, at the display.

Thanks, Apple :)

Congrats on your new MacBook Pro! I had a similar experience when I got my 15" one a few months ago. Absolutely wonderful machine!:)

3.06GHz for $2600? Where'd you buy it from?

I've bought the same one on-line with a student discount.

MBP 17/ CTO Z0GW $2,614.00 1 $2,614.00
With the following configuration:
Processor 065-8806 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo [add $270]
Memory 065-8807 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM-2X2GB
Hard Drive 065-8810 500GB Serial ATA Drive@7200rpm [add $45]

^^ which means you should be able to easily afford it... unless you graduated from highschool? lol

Sounds like a sweet machine. I have the 15 incher, but I lust over the higher resolution of the seventeen.
