I absolutely adore this thing. I got an iPad 1 on eBay used for 490. 64 gb with a case and extra charger. It is really sweet. I thought tablets seemed like a gimmick but I love sitting on my couch. Reading comics and consuming media is so much more enjoyable.

I have a few more weeks until the warranty ends on this thing. Should I purchase AppleCare, or just wing it?

Going through email is such a different experience. I love the layout.

So far i am impressed. :)

Great to see your enjoying your iPad.

In reponse to your warranty question, in my personal opinion, I would just check the iPad for any faults/problems and if you can't find any faults/problems it will be fine to go without Apple care, if their are problems send it in for replacement.

If you can get a SquareTrade warranty, you might consider that. It covers accidental damage too.

I guess it really depends on how long you think you will end up keeping this iPad. I know with my iPhones I don't purchase Apple Care because I'm upgrading almost yearly so its not really worth it to me. Also its only defects and stuff, no accidental damage. With my iPad I'm considering going SquareTrade, much better deal IMO.
