First Jailbreak EVER: Step-by-Step Tutorial to JB 3GS 3.1.3.

Hi,

I have an iPhone 3G on 3.1.3, Firmware: 05.12.01 on ATT with a data plan, I need to jailbreak this so I can do tethering and other things, can someone please give me a detailed step-by-step guide to how to do this. Keep in mind I have never jailbroken anything in my life, so assume I'm a complete n00b, so details will be helpful!

When I asked the same questoin to someone else I was given nothing more than the following link. I had jailbroken my device in less than 20 minutes.

I think this is the best way to go about it if you're not going to search the forums for straight to the point threads that have already been started:

Next time you ask this kind of question it's also fairly important to give info on your OS as some tools won't work in windows and vice versa.

i used the spirit JB on my 3GS 3.1.3 on a vista Home Premium computer. And it litteraly 5 seconds.

This and Bl@ckRa1n was one of the easiest JB's ever

1) click the above link
2) download the file according to your OS (mac, windows, linux)
3) open file (spirit)
4) connect iPhone
5) click jailbreak
6) wait for phone to do its business
7) done

once you have done this a Cydia icon will be on your springboard - go into it and have fun
