OK I bought my first Mac ever last night, MBP 13" 2010 Base. I'm really happy with the purchase. I've already did a fresh install on it :D and battery calibration. Also I installed the following:
-Better Touch tool
-Perian
-Flip4Mac
-Office 2008 for Home & Student
- MSN messenger 8 Beta
-Final Cut Express 4
-CS5 Suite
-uTorrent

I'm still getting used to the whole thing, but I'm loving the experience so far. I've read lots of stuff the past two weeks but now I seem of have forgotten most lol

Also took some pics with my DSLR :D:cool:

I can't wait to get a base MBP 15" for myself! I'm hoping they start the back to school sale soon

As far as purchases are concerned - there is no better experience than taking home a macbook and opening it.

The feel of this thing in your hand is amazing, I can literary feel the quality

The transition has been really easy from windows to Mac, but for me I've never had an issue with any type of technology lol

I just got my first Mac and I must say I truly love this computer. I see why they cost so much. Os X was different at first but very easy to learn and in general much better than Windows in its own way.

Welcome to the club

But FYI there was absolutely no need to format and re-install when you purchased it. It's not windows where you get a computer crammed with useless bloatware. Twas just the system you've got on there now.

My base 13" MBP is 5 weeks old according to Coconutbattery and i've had it for about 3. It's amazing, and i don't see why i would need to spend more for the 15", for my own uses (surfing, word processing, some gaming on win7). Though i don't do any real photo/video/audio processing. I guess that's where all the processing power goes.

Welcome to the borg collective, resistance is futile, you will be assimilated :D

Enjoy your new baby, its a great machine.

I've added NTFS Mac 3g for ntfs write support and blackberry desktop manger, which means I can tether my baby anywhere over the 3G network using my blackberry bold

also I've downloaded iPhone SDK 3.2

I worked on some AVCHD videos last night, and I love the Expose and spaces thing, I had my Final Cut Express in its separate window and then had my iTunes and web browsing in another window. It a very good way to keep things organized and separated . I had no issues working with the 13.3" screen but again I'm not doing pro work, just some amateur stuff. I can't believe what I've been missing out on all these years :apple:

Why did you do a clean install - i thought it was a new machine? You don't have to do a clean install when you buy a mac, it doesn't come clustered full of third party crap like windows laptops do. :)

I recommend transmission instead of uTorrent, I found that it's a lot more intuitive and does exactly what it's meant to do.

Did anyone else think this was going to be a thread about the first ever Mac user with pictures of them using it?

maybe it was just me?
