The first Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro orders have begun arriving to some customers ahead of schedule, and some have posted hands-on videos online.

Seven videos from two iPad Pro users have appeared online so far, offering the first close look at the new Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro.

The first video appeared in Thai, featuring the unboxing experience of the Magic Keyboard. Other videos by the same user have given a look at the USB-C port on the hinge of the Magic Keyboard, which is used for passthrough charging, as well as the brightness of the backlit keys.

There have since been four videos in English by YouTube user MrExitStrategy, covering many of the new key features. The first of these shows the hinge system of the case, which provides a "floating" cantilevered design for smooth viewing angle adjustments of up to 130 degrees.

There is also a look at the preferences pane of the Magic Keyboard in the Settings app, revealing that the keyboard backlighting brightness may be changed manually or automatically adjusted based on ambient lighting conditions.

The most recent video offers a more detailed comparison of the Magic Keyboard with the Smart Folio Keyboard, and walks through some of the new trackpad gestures in iPadOS 13.4. This video suggests that the trackpad uses a mechanical click rather than haptic feedback. The cantilevered design is tested for stability, including for use with Apple Pencil.

Earlier this week, the Magic Keyboard became available for order online alongside the new iPhone SE, and most deliveries are expected to begin arriving next week.

Hmmmm, my iPad Pro (2018) has just started sticking in the wrong rotation mode (just like the beginning of first video).
thanks for videos, I’m getting mine next week. Wasn’t going to buy one but I do need to catch up on some writing/emails and I really dislike typing on iPad screen.

I'm definitely excited to add one of these when I upgrade my Ipad Pro. I currently have a logictech keyboard and while I love typing on the keyboard, the stand digs into your legs when on your lap. Very uncomfortable. This looks much better. Thanks for the video.

Also, my Ipad is constantly sticking in the wrong orientation mode when I open it lately. Is this a known bug? Or do the orientation internals wear out over time?

Many times I pick up the 2018 it is in the wrong orientation, the 9.7" Pro hardly ever did that.

Pretty embarrassing for Apple this problem is in the first keyboard hands on video!

Let me see if I can phrase this correctly, if you remove it from the case and take it to the couch lets say, while the case is still open, is it still connected to the case via Bluetooth? As in the keyboard will still light up even though the iPad is not in the case? Or does it connect some other way like the smart connector?

It doesn't look too bad, but I still highly prefer the kickstand on my surface pro, the ipad one just looks like it's going to tip backwards with any pressing on the upper to middle screen. It also still has the keyboard flat to the ipad which sucks for typing. The ipad one also adds quite a bit of thickness, I thought it was thinner than that. I'll still dream of an ipad with a hardware kickstand one day. Plus $349...

What “minimal” case did the first guy have, where it went up and encased the Pencil? If anyone knows, please let me know. I like how it looks! 78178986-7E65-4CAC-8A5B-B199F6216F61.jpeg10E40251-E51B-4A20-9D21-73426BBCF6AD.jpeg9CF671E9-5500-435C-9683-119C4FB1E213.jpegDBE12C23-3417-43F7-BF11-25EEDECD86E3.jpeg

It connects via the Smart Connector, so if you remove the iPad the keyboard won't work. If it were Bluetooth, you wouldn't be able to charge the iPad through the keyboard USB-C port.

The video doesn't "suggest" that the trackpad uses a mechanical click...you can clearly see the pad physically moving.
