First Name appears twice in address book after emailing contact

Hey,

I've got a problem with address book which I believe is originating from mail. For some of my contacts I only like to have their first name (or don't have their last name) such as mum & dad (yeh I'm aussie ), my girlfriends name etc and whenever I email them their name appears twice in their contact card in address book. Ie, Mum will become Mum Mum.

I delete the second appearance and It just comes back next time I email them.

I have tried permissions, onyx etc but can't solve it.

Is anyone else having these problems? Thanks

I've had this problem ever since I got my macbook in may and can't find anywhere that discusses it.

Check the entries in Address Book to see that they haven't all mysteriously been added twice.

Last name appear twice in address book

OMG!!! I'm having the same problem. I'm having the same exact problem. I thought it was a syncing problem at first with my Iphone 7 after syncing my contacts displays the same thing. It's very frustrating and annoying. I lost count on how many times I've deleted last names over & over & I get the same thing. I want my adress book to appear first name then last name ONCE! anyone got any solutions. Please help me.
