First New Imac today and Need assistance with Quicktime

First new Imac and I have been successul in setting it up and connecting to my lynksis wireless . However, when I go to YouTube or Yahoo videos I cannot get the video to play on quicktime. All I get is a Q with a question mark in it. No sure why. Can anyone tell me what to do so it will play? No it sounds dumb but any asistance would be greatly appreciated.

Be nice this is my first Mac and I am a newbie.

Well since YouTube plays in Flash, I think you need to get Flash player from Adobe's website.

Here's your problem: quicktime is trying to play your flash movies.

Open up Quicktime under system prefs and deselect the option to enable playback of adobe flash tracks. That should solve it.
