Hey there, I wanted to share the first music video shot on the iPhone 4 which is gaining fast attention on YouTube and was featured on Gizmodo.com. I shot it this past weekend with close friend and new music artist, flakjakt, for an original song he wrote specifically for this video.

Not only did we showcase the capabilities of the iPhone 4 (which, aside from lack of manual controls, really impressed me), but a lot of people have mentioned they wouldn’t have known it was shot on an iPhone. And ultimately, this was our goal; to create a music video that stands on its own. Watch and enjoy!

Yeah, certainly not first, as this was out on the 26th:

We simply claim to be the first iPhone 4 Music Video for flakjatkt, not the FIRST. But of course that was a deliberate title as well.

Secondly, there is at least one guy who copied the title of our video because he wasn't getting enough hits. In fact he found my phone number and called me to complain, then told me over the phone he was going to copy the title of our video! haha.

I just hope people will see that with the right talent behind an iPhone 4 you can attain a pretty amazing look. The proof is in the pudding. In fact we're working on a crazy followup video that I hope will take iPhone 4 footage to new heights.

Very nice video, editing and music! :)

Edited to add

I like this from your Vimeo page:

"Of course, I knew there would be obvious technical hurdles, so everything was structured to be shot to take advantage of the camera's strong points. Lack of lighting, aperture and shutter speed control were all taken into consideration when planning."

That's a great fact to realize about many things, but in this particular case the iPhone 4. The still camera and video capabilities are pretty darn good for a phone. You just can't expect it to do everything you want. Tailoring your style and approach is necessary.
