Although this is just a $20 discount, it is the first markdown that we've tracked on the brand new 11-inch iPad with the A16 chip. All models of this iPad can be pre-ordered now, ahead of the official March 12 launch day.

Amazon also has $20 off the 256GB Wi-Fi iPad, available for $429.00, down from $449.00. This one is available in all four colors.

Lastly, Amazon has the 512GB Wi-Fi iPad on sale for $614.00, down from $649.00. This one is available in all four colors: Pink, Silver, Yellow, and Blue.

The new 11th generation iPad features the A16 chip and more storage. Specifically, it starts with 128GB of storage, and is also available in 256GB and a new 512GB configuration. The previous model was only available in 64GB and 256GB configurations.

With all the people complaining about this iPad not having Apple Intelligence, I feel like I’m in the minority who thinks this device is an insane value. I’m one to get the best for myself so I would never buy it, but I could easily recommend this device to other people without feeling like they’re getting a cheap device.

If you don't need cellular absolutely but to add almost 50% to the price just to get 5G is wild.

It's a great value and at this point in time, Apple Intelligence isn't a selling point for me because I feel it's not ready for prime time. Particularly when apps like ChatGPT and Perplexity outperform Apple Intelligence, at least in my specific use cases.

Spec Sheet Warriors who seek validation will always find something to criticize or complain about

This is a great device for me to replace my 2019 iPad Air

Apple Intelligence is not all it’s cracked up to be. I was using Chat GPT before, and I still use it. I find it’s a lot easier to open the app rather than typing in use chat in writing tools. Image Playground is a joke. At this point no one is missing out. The only benefit of new Ai ready devices is better specs.

I still have an iPad Pro 12.9" (2020) I still like it for doing work, with pencil, and use it as an extra screen with my MacBook Pro. But this is really tempting as an updated consumption device; to read books and watch streaming. May need to consider it. I can update the iPP later.

Yeah, a bit surprising to see this already. I get it when they're trying to reduce stock, but don't want to drop their own retail prices. But this seems odd.
This is Amazon not Apple discounting. Retailers typically have a discount hoping to draw you in and purchase the product and add high margin accessories to your order.

You're not in the minority. I would have bet money on at least a $399 starting price but I was expecting $449 since we knew it would get the bump to 128GB storage. It's only because my iPad 9 still works that I haven't pre-ordered. The iPad 11 is a great way to reach customers who wanted Apple products but found them unaffordable. By "reach" I mean "assimilate into the Apple collective." Lower your shields.

The best for yourself would not automatically mean the highest end device, for a lot of people. Sometimes the best for yourself would be the best value proposition.

Most people who buy an iPad would be able to do what they want to do on this device or the iPad Air.

Imagine this device back in 2010. Never minding the SoC performance. It would be considered a tablet of the highest premium quality and high end display and sound specs.

Everything is relative.

MR aren't the target market for basic Apple devices.

They tend to prefer Pros and Maxs.

I have a 2018 iPad Pro 11" A12X that I intend to replace once I cannot get iPadOS security updates anymore.

I may pick up the basic iPad by 2027 as I only use it for YouTube, Safari, Messaging, Email and playing podcasts.

Disappointing CPU upgrade. 3 year old CPU is not going to be very snappy in a year or so.

Does Apple not enforce its MSRP policies?

Most retailers stick to the MSRP, and throw in other things as a "discount".
