:( Had my MBP for several weeks now and absolutely fantastic but today I have had a weird problem.

My USB hard disk was not being mounted properly and following some tips on the web I installed the XTools in order to run USBProbe. This didn't resolve anything so I ended up erasing the disk - no real problem there as there was nothing vital on it. This was this afternoon.

This evening I switched on the MBP and once booted up I found that whichever screen was active was losing focus about every 5 seconds. If I clicked on an item on the status bar (for example the AirPort icon) the menu would close up again at the 5 second mark.

I rebooted the machine twice but still the same thing. I was just about to uninstall XTools - I had just opened a Terminal window - when the problem stopped.

I have rebooted again and the problem seems to have gone but I am concerned it could start again. It lasted for about 15 minutes in all but I could see nothing in Activity Monitor to explain it. As a switcher from Windows I don't know enough about my MBP to delve further.

Any one else experienced anything like this please?

Thanks
Steve
