iPod touch first tim touch owner w./ wi-fi problem

my touch is asking me to "select a Wi-Fi Network" and there are two sets of numbers. no matter what i click though, it asks for a password. i just got it so i dont have a password. does anyone know what i need to do? im at home on the net now.

also is the 2.0 upgrade free? my itunes ipod setup screen said i could purchase it from the itunes store

The Touch itself has no password to a WiFi network. Only you would have the password to your own network. Or whoever owns it.

Do you have a new Touch (2G)? If so, then 2.0 should be free (and should have came with the iPod.)
