Hello! I just purchased my first Apple Watch and have been playing with it today... i can’t seem to figure out if there is a way to turn on sleep mode in the Watch without also enabling it on my iPhone? I’d like to keep the watch on while I sleep to use sleep tracking, but without alerts or the screen on. Putting the Watch on Sleep mode or DND also puts my phone in Do not Disturb mode. Is there to do that on the Watch only and make sure it tracks my sleep? Thanks!

Try in Watch app on iPhone....General>>Do Not Disturb>>Mirror iPhone..uncheck it

That works for just the Do Not Disturb icon on the Watch, but then if I click the Sleep Mode icon on the Watch instead, it still enables Do Not Disturb on both the iPhone and the Watch.

I wanted to do this the other way around -- I like the sleep mode screen on my phone, but don't want sleep mode on my watch. But if I turn it on on the phone, it also turns it on on my watch. Grrrrrrrr.

You don’t say why you don’t want the phone in DND mode while you sleep. If it’s because you’re afraid you’ll miss phone calls, what I do is go to Settings on the phone, then Do Not Disturb and tell it “Allow Calls From Everyone”. That will silence email and text and other notifications at night, but still allow calls through, which works well for me when I’m on call at work. You can also limit it to allow calls from only people you’ve marked as favorites or only a specific group of contacts if you don’t want just any call coming through.

I find this is a good compromise anyway because that means that my phone isn’t going to be making noise and disturb my sleep for every email or app notification that I get, but I still know that I can be reached in an emergency or when I’m on call.
