Hey Guys,

I have a MBP 2018 I7 with upgraded ram.
I have read many stories about people casualy gaming with this device successfully.
Unfortunately my experience has not been ideal so far - it seems to struggle to run a game as simple as Golf w Friends.
I've noticed that if I open 3 or more applications (non gaming) it begins to lag extensively and has major issues.

I'm wondering if there is something i need to do to ensure it is maximizing the macs hardware/graphics and runs correctly.
I've already been installing drivers and other thing just to get it to operate normally as it doesn't communicate with the hardware correctly by default.

Is there something I'm missing here or is this just how trying to game on a mac goes?

Thanks for the help

Btw - the goal is to play PUBG and Deceit

Boot Camp can be a fickle endeavor. I use it to run Win 10 v. 1903 on my 2017 27' i5 3.8ghz. I have the Radeon 580 with 8g VRAM, and 32g of RAM in the Mac. I have a 1TB SSD.

1.) Make sure you have the most current version of BootCamp installed on your Win Partition. Try to have your partition be as large as possible.

2.) Updating the "BootCamp Drivers" under "Mac" on AMD's site have been the most important for me. Use the AMD Control Panel.

3.) Be careful when BootCamp installs "Apple Software Update" on your Win partition. Set it to manual. Not every update/download is something you'll need/want on your partition.

I still have issues with some buggy hardware connections at times, however I'm ok with it as it usually resolves. I have World of Warships and X-Plane 11 on my partition. I get superb rates on Ultra High Settings with WoW at 2880X1440. In X-Plane it doesn't take much to kill my rates. I usually fly with all ground vehicles and AI aircraft off with world detail set to medium at best for acceptable rates at 2880X1440.

Back when I was hard core I had a dedicated PC for my Flight Sims. I can't speak for your game play but it should be easily run.

I'd check the AMD site for a BootCamp driver update. In the end thought, no matter what people say if you're going to be a serious Win PC gamer a PC box is really the only way to go. Good luck. :)

I would suggest putting Bootcamp/Windows on an external SSD....this is my setup and it works fine. 500gb SSDs are at a very good price point at this time though I do not know what your budget may be.
