Planning on picking up a 1.83 Ghz, 512MB memory 60GB etc.

Im buying it because at school I work exclusively on Mac's so I want to be able to use the same programs on my laptop that I do at school.

I'm going to be using programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress as well as other like programs.

Is this the right choice for what I need it for?

Also, Is there any way I can transfer programs onto my laptop?

I assume this is a Macbook?

I terms of transferring programs, you may beable to copy and paste the applications from the app folder, however photoshop etc will have to be installed, besides copying photoshop etc would be classes as illegal!

In terms of buying photoshop, its ashame you can't wait for CS3 because photoshop now will have to be run under rosetta and will be slower than cs3 when it will be be a universal app.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that it may be legal for students to have copies of educationally licensed software. I'm not 100% sure though.
