First time iPOD buyer looking for 160gb, need advice!

In the past I have never bought an apple product, however I am looking at the current model of the iPOD 160gb.

My question is quite simple. Should I buy the current model or does anyone know if there is an update on its way anytime soon?

this event will be on the 9th of september, I would imagine that availability will be immediate

on the classics you could expect 'maybe' they will get the front of the ipod touch, with the touch screen display

please dont buy now, even if the refresh isnt what you want there will be big discounts on the current, excellent, model

It seems, though, that with the update on Tuesday, those good discounts might stand to become even better. At worst the discount would stay the same. I'd wait and consider the situation in a few days.
