Hi everyone, I'm having a bit of bad luck trying to locate a good replacement battery for my MacBook Pro. I have the original Unibody model with the user replaceable battery compartment, which is nice...if I can find a good battery. The main problem is that Apple's shipping estimate for the replacement is "2-3 months". This caused me to look for third party vendors/batteries. I found the same batter on Amazon, and am tempted to order it, but have seen other third party batteries with claims of better life. So.. I have done some research and am looking for comments towards third party batteries and/or vendors.

Apple battery:

Amazon:

Has anyone had experience with a third party battery replacement? If so, I'd like to know about it. Thanks!

(And yes, I tried searching.. this is all I could come up with: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/717527/)

I haven't checked at a local store yet. I am just going to order the Apple branded battery on Amazon if I decide to get the Apple one. I was mainly looking for suggestions/info/comments on third party batteries and the possible pros/cons of them.

Personally, I wouldn't trust a battery that didn't come from Apple, but it's your call.

I am actually in the same boat for my girl's silver MB late 2008. I contemplated going on amazon ($50) vs apple ($130). But, I know Apple stands behind their products and battery lasts very well. I will shell out a few more dollars for a guarantee of the product. I can bring it to the apple store, have them put it in and offers warranty on the purchased battery. Saving $80 may help you now and stiff you in the long run. Shell out the extra cash and be safe for the long run...
