Average heartbeat 151?

Fitbit said 121.

Usually about 116, but have been slacking lately.

Indoor on a treadmill at Max incline, 4.3 mph, for an hour plus 5 minute cool down.

I suppose it is what is is, but it was kind of surprising.

Any chance Fitbit was the error? My optical Fitbits were horrible and always read low. The AW isn’t perfect either (no optical on the wrist really is) but when it makes a mistake it tends to read LOW not high. I think there is a reasonable chance it was the AW that was right.

It's possible, but when I checked manually, it was much closer to the Fitbit rate. Granted, that was a snapshot and not an average for the hour, but 151 seems very high.

I have yet to try with my incoming S4, but with my S2, heart rate measurements have been dead-on. At least compared to my Scosche Rhythm+ (which I use when riding my Peloton) and various gym equipment that has heart rate sensors on the handlebars.

And, given my age, 151 puts me over 90% of MHR (using the typical 220-age method). For an hour.

I'll see what the sensor on the machine says tomorrow, if the weather stays rainy.

FWIW, during this morning's workout, the Fitbit and Apple Watch were within three BPM of each other.

The only differences other than natural variability is that I was outside today and I manually started the workout today.

I always manually start my excercise. All you got to do is ask Siri to do it.
A device at this price point should be able to handle that autonomously if a Fitbit can do it.

Edit: And it did, yesterday. The heart rate is likely unrelated, but it was a difference.
