Fit Entire Picture in PIP

I have a horizontal picture I would like to place in the bottom 3rd(ish) of my video. When I put this picture on top of the video, it only shows a very small portion. When I go in to crop it the whole picture is there but the square only fits over the far left side. I can shrink the square but I can't enlarge it because it tries to keep the aspect ratio of the picture the same so when it hits the edge of the picture vertically it won't stretch out horizontally anymore.

I'm using iMovie '09 on Lion if that helps anything.

Please help, I need to have this in the mail by tomorrow morning!

In the Cropping menu, try ticking/unticking the "Fit" option.
