So I have a rather old Macbook Pro (Mid-2010, MacbookPro7,1) that has a screen resolution of 1280x800 which is fine for pretty much everything I do except for when I get it in my mind to stream a game from Steam.
See, Steam streams to the Macbook Pro at 1280x720 and there isn't exactly a way to override that so it streams at 1280x800. As a result, two rather annoying black bars appears on the top and bottom of the screen since the Macbook Pro is 16:10 and the stream is 16:9.
I've tried looking at every conceivable place for an answer: is there a way to stretch a 16:9 resolution (1280x720) to fit the screen? In Windows I know this is a trivial matter but in OS X it's like trying to find the holy grail.
I even attempted to use SwithResX and that didn't work.
Naturally, I'm running OS X 10.10.2
