The Fitness app on my iphone 16+ doesn't act right. I walk everyday and on some days it counts my steps, on other days it doesn't, and on other days it stays at zero all day even though I have walked several kilometers but then hours after I stopped walking it will suddenly show the steps.
Today I walked several kilometers and it stayed at zero all day. Then hours later tonight after dinner I checked and it suddenly showed today's steps. Yesterday it stayed at zero and never did update. A few days ago for 2 days in a row it seemed to behave properly and showed my steps at about the time I walked.
For more than a year I have used the Google Fit app on my other phone (Android) and it always works and updates in almost real time. It has never once not counted steps or had a several hour delay in updating. I also tried 2 other free apps on the Android for several weeks each. They also worked well, but I decided I liked Google Fit the best.
I read the page below about Apple Fitness, but nothing it says applies to me. I have the phone set up properly and, as I said, on some days it works reasonably well -- but not nearly as well or high quality as Google Fit.

Any ideas on how to get Apple Fitness to work properly?
