Fix firmware realted problem in iMac G3?

Like an idiot about six months ago I tried to install jaguar without updating the firmware so the screen is now all sorts of weird colors. I have installed puma on it and it works its just the screen is weird colors. I was wondering whether this could be fixed (not by updating the firmware) as I am running puma so it is impossible (i think). Or I was wondering maybe replace the CRT unit or is that WAY to complicated?
