Apple, if you are reading this, fix your damn Bootcamp drivers!
If you use bootcamp with Windows Vista or Windows 7, and are under the age of 50, most likely you hear a very bothersome high-pitched buzz emitting from your computer when you dim the screen using the keyboard function keys. This is a problem with Apple's (and Nvidia's) drivers which do not handle screen dimming correctly.
So far, the only way to fix this that I have found, is to just uninstall the NVIDIA drivers for your card by clicking Start>Right Click My Computer> Manage>Device Manager>Expand the Display Adapters Tree> Right Click the video card, and click Uninstall. Now reboot the Macbook and change your screen resolution back from 800x600 to 1440x900 (or if you have a 17', change it respectfully to the correct resolution). Now dim your screen... No buzz!
There are downsides to this fix, however:
1) You cannot customize the start bar color.
2) Performance in games will suffer without optimized NVIDIA drivers.
3) You cannot use advanced features of the card, such as multiple monitors
