One of the glaring problems with the Sector5 case is the deeply recessed volume control area. This is my interim fix until I get around to milling something out to fit. I originally tried moulding a button panel out of sugru, but couldn't get it to look nice enough.
Ingredients: old Apple iPhone4 bumper, double sided adhesive tape.
Optional: paint to match.
The volume keys from the apple bumper can be removed carefully as a single unit. I sandblasted them to help with paint adhesion, painted them matte black, and baked the enamel on. Then I cut a small rectangle of double sided fabric tape and adhered them to the iPhone5's volume buttons. They have stayed in place for the last few days without any problems, and definitely make the phone easier to use.
I'm sure that this could work on any case with the same design problem, and who doesn't have an old ratty iPhone4 bumper sitting around?
