Well, it seems a lot of us (myself included) have been having problems with StuffIt in Tiger.

It seems to extract everything to a folder but nothing shows up. If you do a search for the files in spotlight, they'll show up there, and you can run them, but they don't appear in Finder.

This has really annoyed me, so I re-installed Tiger to see if it was a software conflict. Didn't work.

Then I started playing around to see what it could be, because I have had it working properly before. And now I have a fix. :)

It's not ideal, but at least it makes StuffIt usable again - hit [CMD]+[J] to bring up the folder view options, and turn off "Show item info" for all folders. (you'll have to do this on the desktop as well)

While it does annoy me that I don't have this info, it's much less annoying than not being able to use StuffIt properly.

70 views and no feedback? Is it working for anyone else?

I thought you were talking crud with this, a I'd just installed Stuffit Expander 9.01 and it's been working fine.

However, turning ON "show item info" in the Finder does, lo and behold, result in this bug.

Thanks for sharing this. However, as "show item info" is off by default in Tiger it's probably not something a lot of people have run into yet. Expect a fix from Allume soon. In my experience there's always some kind of problem with Stuffit whenever OS X gets updated.
