I haven't used it in ages .... now I have no ****ing clue how to drag a song from the library to my iPhone or iPad. wow, this is insane. Nothing makes sense, what did you guys do to this??

Odd, isn't it?

Just start dragging a song and a sidebar from the right flies in and you can drag the song to the i-Device.

Or you can return to the old look, go to View-> Show Sidebar.

Google and/or taking ten seconds to think would have helped tremendously instead of throwing a fit.

You can re-enable the sidebar, as has been said, or you can go to the iOS device and select from albums, artists, playlists, and such to add songs otherwise.
 
People really should try to figure things out on their own (which in this case would have taken 10 seconds to realize how easy it is to do still) instead of giving up after one failed attempt and whining about it on message boards.
