Hello

There are hundreds of threads online of people complaining that swiping the trackpad does not wake the display when it goes off.

My macbook pro starting suffering this problem and required me to physically click the button or 'tap to click'. Swiping fingers just would not wake the mac! But what confused me was that i was CONVINCED it worked previously.

Well I have found out what causes the swipe to wake display to stop working!

It's bluetooth mice! A week ago i paired a bluetooth mouse and it seems this disables swipe to wake. Which makes sense 'cos if you accidentally bumped the mouse, the mac would wake up unnecessarily.

I have since removed the paired magic mouse from bluetooth settings and hey presto i can wake the display by swiping the trackpad again.

I don't have the mouse anymore because it was faulty but this will be annoying when I buy a new mouse!

I am posting this as a new thread because none of the threads I found had this answer.
