Ok, MacBook Pro 1st gen, 1 gb ram, 2.0 ghz. Freeze after download, but not install, of newest OS version. Tiger Kernel panic, "No Driver for this platform". Ran Diskwarrior, rebuilt, fixed permissions, disk ok. Can see all of my files, everything looks good. System dir in top of drive, named correctly. Still same error.

Apple says to use install discs to fix. Recently moved. Don't have em.

Question is: Do I have to buy new Tiger Discs to fix this? or can I buy Leopard? I don't want to lose any files if possible.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
