So my hard drive with my user folder failed.
Recovered everything via Time Machine, stuck it on a new hard drive.

Now I can't log into my account, says it can't be found? Lets me type my password, then the blue and white progress bar comes up followed by an error. Only thing I can think of is cus it's in a different location...the new hard drive.

I have a copy of Snow Leopard on a USB drive which I am using now, been looking around on my normal boot disk to see if I can find a .plist to change the user directory. To be honest though I have no idea what I am looking for...any ideas how I can solve this?

...so I think single user mode might help me here. Can i create an admin account on this?

Create account...log in...and edit my existing account via system prefs.
