I have a Power Mac G4 that I recently had to reinstall OSX 10.2. We use it to share files with an older G3 Mac running OS 9point something . The G3 runs a vinyl cutting machine and we transfer files from our Windows machines to the G4 shared folder so we can open the file on the G3 and run the cutter.

I reinstalled OSX 10.2 with an included disc and set up the shared folder and it worked but the USB drives didn’t work. I updated to 10.2.8 and that fixed the USB problem but my shared folder stopped working & can’t be found anywhere on the network.

I’m trying to update from 10.2.8 to 10.4.11 to see if that will fix things as this machine used to have that on it but the installer won’t run. Some research tells me I need to update to 10.3 then possibly to 10.4 before updating to 10.4.11 but I can’t find the 10.3 installer except as a Toast file and i need to burn the disc using a Windows machine and all of the Toast downloads online are for Mac machines.

File sharing is turned on and the shared folder permissions are all read&write.

Not sure if the 10.2.8 update broke file sharing or what but I’m again stumped with this machine.

Thanks for any help
