So, I picked up a free G5 unit from someone the other day, before he was going to put it into recycling.. and offered me a damaged 2008 unibody macbook for 40$! He said someone spilled yogurt onto it.

Looking at the laptop, looked brand new, not a dent or damage on it, no lights, no power supply or anything else included either.

Took it home, he already opened it to clean it.. so I inspected his work. I noticed a few cables weren't re-installed properly.

Once I fixed that, I plugged her in with my wife's power supply, still dead, but I noticed the battery indicator now worked. When pushed, the lights seemed to fall into a "searching" mode, running up and down.

So, I figure DC board or logic board failure.

I've ordered a DC board and found a functional logic board for a great price, we'll see if the DC board (first) fixes it !
