Today I bought a used iPhone 3G from one of my classmates for a very reasonable price. Only problems were that the glass/digitizer was completely shattered and the back cover had a crack (don't worry, I bought the iPhone knowing these issues). I have ordered the replacement parts, read iFixit's guides, and watched YouTube videos to fix these parts. I was wondering if anyone had any insight or advice before I dive into the process of tearing apart my iPhone. Thanks ahead of time :D

if this is your first time, set aside at least 3 hours to do it. Keep/mark the screws where they belong with theirs part. Make sure you transfer the earphone ring, camera ring and the 2 metal screens at the bottom to the new housing.

If you are careful, it is not that hard to fix these. I have done many, many of these job and it takes me about 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Good luck!
