I had been backing up and syncing our iPhones and iPad to a our iMac via Wi-Fi Sync for years. But a year or so ago the iMac quit “seeing” all three iPhones and the iPad Mini. So I reverted to backing up and syncing via USB - ugh.*
Then a few weeks ago, in order to get Safari on the iPad to quit crashing, I did a hard reboot of the iPad Mini and it miraculously showed up in iTunes on the iMac and went back to Wi-Fi syncing
Encouraged by the iPad’s return to Wi-Fi syncing, I Googled/read a lot of articles and threads about Wi-Fi syncing. FWIW almost all of the articles and threads repeated the same “solutions” that didn’t work. But one thread on this forum suggested Reseting All Settings. And sure enough, that worked on ONE of the three iPhones. In fact, when the 5s woke back up, it immediately remembered the iMac and offered to sync wirelessly

But despite Reseting All Settings on the iPhone 6s and SE, they still resolutely refuse to Wi-Fi Sync with the iMac
Oh, they both know that they are supposed to Wi-Fi Sync with the iMac, because they list it in General>iTunes Wi-Fi Sync. But they never seem to find the iMac, even though they are sitting right next to the antique iPhone 5s that happily finds and Wi-Fi Syncs with the same iMac.
My iPhone 6s and MacBook Pro have a crush on each other. It’s really shameful how eager they are to hookup wirelessly, as soon as they are on the same network. And no matter how many times I tell them it is not to be (by turning off Wi-Fi Sync while they are whispering sweet nothings) as soon as I turn Wi-Fi Sync back on while the 6s in physically attached to the iMac, the 6s and my MacBook Pro try to rekindle their illicit Wi-Fi relationship.
My wife’s iPhone SE appears to have given up on Wi-Fi Syncing altogether — with her iMac or my MacBook Pro — despite all the Wi-Fi relationship counseling techniques I’ve Googled and tried.
So I’ve made progress — 2 of our 4 iOS devices can now Wi-Fi Sync with our iMac. But the other 2 iPhones show just how complex/fragile Apple’s iTunes Wi-Fi Sync really is. And why the advice available on the internet is so hit and miss. It’s like the blind men and the elephant — the iTunes Wi-Fi Sync problem looks and often is, different for different device combinations. So what works in some cases, may be only marginally helpful in most cases and totally useless in others.
OBTW If you have a solution for fixing iTunes Wi-Fi Sync on the iPhone 6s and/or SE, I’d love to hear it.

* Please don’t even think about suggesting iCloud backup/sync/restore, unless you’ve backed up, sync’d and restored 4 iOS devices via an ISP link with 2Mbps v and 400Kbps ^ bandwidth. Yes — those really are bits per second, not bytes. Do the math.
