Yes yes yes, I now know I should have installed Mac OS on the iMac before hand and used boot camp with Manjaro but I was stupid and impatient.

I‘ ve tried many things to solve this, but my options are pretty limited being as I basically only have a Windows PC to work with. I could get my hands on a Mac to use but I would rather avoid that if possible.

I’ve tried using Transmac to create a bootable usb drive as well as BalenaEtcher, although my problem may have been not using the right file/not knowing where to get a file to use. Now, I have been trying to format the hard drive itself by taking it out of the iMac and putting it in my PC. It’s been recognized but idk where to go from there with reinstalling a MacOS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I’m going crazy with this thing.

It’s late and I’ll respond tomorrow but please respond if you know what could help.

Was the Mac in question made after 2010?
If so, can it do INTERNET recovery?

That's:
Command-OPTION-R
at boot time.

If you're connected via wifi, you'll need the wifi password.
The internet utilities take a while to load.

If you can boot this way and get the internet utilities loaded, open disk utility.
IF disk utility has a "view" menu, choose "show all devices" (VERY IMPORTANT STEP).
If there is NO VIEW MENU, don't worry about it, just move on.

On the left, select the topmost line that represents the physical drive inside.
Now, ERASE IT -- entirely.

Worry about linux at some point in the future, NOT NOW.

If you get the drive erased, quit disk utility and open the installer and begin clicking through.
Does this work?

The below link has up to Mojave.

The below Google Drive folder contains torrent files to download.

Before running Transmac, you need to partition your USB thumbdrive to GPT first to get it bootable in newer iMac.
