So here's my predicament :
I used evasion 1.0.0 to attempt to Jailbreak my Iphone 4.
This cause Boot logo loop.

I know the common fix for this is to go into DFU mode and restore to 7.1.
I tried this got error 3194, so I used tinyumbrella + TSS server to attempt to fix that error.
It looked as if it was working then i got the error 4014.
I've tried a new cable, reinstalling itunes, etc. but not a new computer yet.

So right now I used the Ramdisk tool then WINSCP to ssh into my iphone.

So my question is, what can I do from here to fix the problem? Is it possible using SSH?

Fixing the apple boot loop caused by Evasion Ios 7 using SSH

the boot loop when using evasi0n7 to jailbreak is probably caused by updating to the version OTA
you can't SSH into the device until you install the package, OpenSSH, from cydia

the latest iOS version is not 7.1, it's 7.1.2! Restore to 7.1.2 and jailbreak using PanGu

I am currently in conection with the device, and have SSH'd into it, that's not the problem, what do I need to do once I've SSH'd in, in order to fix the bootloop.?
What file do I delete or edit? OR is there any entry I change?

Well didn't Evasi0n edit some files when it ran? Why can't those files be edited back to there originals? Can some post a log of what goes on during an evasion jailbreak?

I'm working on trying to find a new way to solve this problem, anyone who is interested in help please post any ideas you may have, nay-sayers please stay absent in the matter, I want to keep things moving forward.

If it is truly impossible, can someone explain why?

it's not impossible but the amount of effort would require much more than a simple iTunes restore and then jailbreak using the PanGu jailbreak

second of all, it would require someone of good knowledge and skill about security research/hacking because you'll have to reverse engineer what evasi0n7 is doing and write your own code/program to reverse whatever evasi0n7 is doing. No one on this forum has that much knowledge to help you with a step by step tutorial

Even if the source code was released, it isn't as simple as replacing files to change a jailbroken device back to stock iOS. You would need to understand code

if you want a writeup, here's one by geohot: http://geohot.com/e7writeup.html

again, you would need to write your own program to reverse whatever evasi0n7 does to the device

Forget Evasion and IOS 7.1. Not possible.
You can only upgrade/restore to 7.1.2 and jailbreak it again with Pangu 1.1.
And it works great, you shouldn't hesitate, just go for it.

You don't seem to understand

I get error 4014, and none of fixes I've seen are working, there is no hardware issue with the phone either.

Love those newbie responses by the OP that thinks everything is so simple and you can just undo it by editing a file or a few lines of code.
Sure its very easy to reverse engineer the evasion jb and then code another program that replaces all those edited files.
Instead of just plugging it to itunes and hitting restore.
Good luck, I guess I'm just a logical naysayer that stops your project from moving forward:D

I'm not saying it's easier. I'm saying that I'm having problems restoring my phone vie itunes, no matter how I try to restore it doesn't work. I do have SSH access though. Yes, it would be very hard, but I can't find anyway to restore my phone.

I have a fairly decent understanding of code.

Everytime i try to restore I get the 4014 error and I am unable to do it.

Thanks.

I'm sure it's not a hardware issue. I restored a number of times before using evasion just fine. I'm about to try a different laptop right now

By the way the "hacktivate" is just deleting Setup.app. Yeah totally different process, though it's representative of a user who found a security hole using ssh. It's totally possible. Maybe you couldn't do it, but someone can, that's for damn sure.

are you restore to iOS 7.1.2?

You will get errors if you're trying to restore to 7.1

I would imagine you need to have a good understanding if you want to reverse engineer the evasi0n7 jailbreak. As in, you can do all this by yourself

No I am restoring

No I am restoring to 7.1.2 and get a 3004 error without tinyumbrella and a 4014 error w/ tiny umbrella TSS Server.

change computers…

Also, write properly from the beginning, you are getting dissed because you half explain your issues.

AFAIK you can get the binary, you can then read for yourself mr code man.

evasi0n takes advantage of several vulnerabilities:
Symbolic Link Vulnerability
Malformed PairRequest
Timezone Vulnerability (CVE-2013-0979)
Shebang Trick
AMFID code signing evasion
launchd.conf untether
IOUSBDeviceFamily Vulnerability (CVE-2013-0981)
ARM Exception Vector Info Leak (CVE-2013-0978)
dynamic memmove() locating
vm_map_copy_t corruption for arbitrary memory disclosure
kernel memory write via ROP gadget
Overlapping Segment Attack (CVE-2013-0977)

or here is geohot kind of write up after reversing it:

Don't have TinyUmbrella open when trying to restore. It's TSS server is not compatible with iOS 7. Make sure you don't have any lines with apple.com in your hosts file (Google how to check). If you do remove them (Google how) and then restart your computer.

Sorry for wasting my time researching and posting things while trying to help you.
But obviously from your comments instead of appreciating it you decide to talk smack while having no clue what you're doing. But since you know coding and editting files to fix it Good luck figuring it out.
Keep using tiny umbrella and maybe give blackrain and ziphone a shot too:rolleyes:
